• Don't travel on the bus top, it could be dangerous in sudden braking you may lose grip and fell down from bus. In some places the electricity wires may touch the body and may become catastrophic.
• Don't travel on footboards, during turnings, sudden braking, you may be thrown out and fell down under the same bus or following vehicles thus becomes fatal.
• While travelling in long distance, please know the emergency door positions and how to open them by asking the driver or attendant. Never knows when the emergency situation arises. In Luxury buses hammers are placed on the window pillar, you can break the window glass and jump out of the vehicle.
• If any smoke or burning smell comes don't hesitate to alert the driver or attendant and look for the cause. After confirmation that everything is normal then only start journey, otherwise if the fire starts it takes only 4 minutes the smoke will enter in to the bus and makes us unconscious and in 10-15 minutes whole bus will burnt in to ashes.
• Observe the driver movements and his behaviour, especially when taking lunch or dinner. Because in some hotels they offer liquor mixed with cool drinks as an incentive for stopping the bus and getting business to them. If you have doubt speak with other passengers and ask the driver and if he resists inform the police by calling 100 and tell your vehicle number, travel of direction and location.
• Under any circumstances don't project your head, hands, body out of the window, the speeding vehicles may hit and it could be dangerous and may lose hands or sometimes may become fatal.
• When sitting in the front seats or middle of the lost seat, wear seat belt provided in the bus, it saves lives during sudden braking and if accident happens.
• In long distance luxury buses like Volvo, Mercedes Benz etc. there will be roof top opening, in an emergency it can be opened to come out of the bus. Don't hesitate to ask the driver or attender, how to open it.
• In luxury buses, where pneumatic doors exists, in emergency push them to open, it will open.
• If the bus is stopped in the middle of the journey for some reasons, never cross the other side from near the bus as shown in below figure, drivers of the other vehicles passing this bus may not see you and may hit.
• As per M.V. Act auto rickshaws are banned to ply on National Highways, don't travel in autos rickshaws on National Highways.
• Don't sit besides the driver, it obstructs the driver to maneuver and control the auto, especially in emergencies he may not react properly and may cause accident.
• While sitting in autos or other vehicles, don't project body out of the vehicle. Vehicles going fast may hit you and cause injuries or deaths.
• Don't get down from a running auto, you may fell down and cause injuries or the following vehicles may run over you.
• Parents shouldn't allow the auto drivers to take more children in autos, driver can't see the other traffic in rear view mirrors and in emergency he may not react properly and may result in accident.
• While getting down from auto, ensure that the auto is stopped at safe place otherwise it may cause traffic disruption or sometimes a serious accident.
• Don't get down right side of the auto, speeding vehicles may hit.
• During rains, thunderstorms, hailstorms don't stop or park your vehicles under trees, the branches of trees or sometimes hole tree may fell down and crush the vehicle and cause the death or injury of passengers.
