• you should always be visible to the drivers or motor cycle riders by wearing reflective jackets or bright clothes.
• Always walk on the footpath, if there is no footpath walk on the right side of the road so that you can see the vehicles direction and in case of any problems you can take defensive action and escape from the crash.
• Always it is safe to cross the road at "Zebra Crossing".
• If you are crossing a four lane road, first cross the first part, stop on the median and then cross the second part. When crossing each part follow the above drill.
• If there is no "Zebra Crossing", take precautions and follow the following Kerb drill and cross when there is no traffic.
a. Stop at the safe place on the Kerb
b. Look right
c. Look leftd. Then look right
e. Ensure there is no vehicles, then cross.
• At junctions, if there is a signal for pedestrian crossing, cross the road when the signal shows green man. If there is no such signal wait for green signal for the vehicles in the direction you are crossing and then cross with proper precautions. Don't cross when there is a red signal, vehicles coming in other directions my hit you.
• Don't cross the road at bends where you cannot see the traffic at least 100 meters because you cannot see the vehicles and you are not visible to the driver; hence there is a chance of becoming an accident.
• Don't cross the road from the front and behind the parked vehicles as shown in the figure, this obstructs the visibility and you cannot see the vehicles and you are not visible to the driver and may cause road crash. Every year so many people getting killed in these type of crashes.
• When you are getting down from right side, don't open the door without taking proper precautions like observing the traffic coming in both the directions which is dangerous, speeding vehicles may hit you and cause a road crash. Especially when you are travelling with children use child lock so that they cannot open the door from inside and any elder or the driver ensure the safety and open the door.
• Don't stand on the road or road side when you are waiting for bus or to meet any friend, if any vehicle loses its control, it my hit you. Please wait at safe place.
• Don't play on the roads, as your concentration is on the game play, vehicles plying on the road may hit you. When the person suddenly appears on the road Driver cannot stop the vehicle immediately even after the driver brakes the vehicle, it takes some distance to stop the vehicle.
• When you are walking with children, hold their hand firmly and watch them. They may attract few things or seeing friends and relatives they may run without any thinking about the traffic and may cause traffic crash.
